the story of bulstrode

Named after the Bulstrode family, this manor-turned-pub dates back to the 15th century and was originally known as The Manor of Hounslow, owned by the Sayer family. The area’s wealthy and distinguished Bulstrode family, bought the manor over in 1705 and turned it into the famous ‘Bulstrode Hotel Hounslow’, every traveller’s favourite!

The next owner then converted the hotel into a brewery that was famed in the country, for a very long period of time and referred to by locals as ‘Bully’s’ or the ‘Bull Pub’. The current management took over in 2006 and converted it to a traditional British Pub and turned it into one of Hounslow’s most sought after socialising spots, while preserving this historic manor’s pristine vintage vibe. It’s still a local favourite to this day.

This large characterful manor turned pub sits right next to the Hounslow Central Tube station and cannot be missed with its majestic antique archetypal British look. The current owners have renovated it just the right amount to create a medley of style offering customers a fusion of the old and the new. A gorgeous garden welcomes you in the front to the main entrance of the manor, giving you classic pub vibes inside while keeping their pièce de résistance for the end – the ambient and colourful large outdoor garden seating at the back, that makes it Hounslow’s largest and most gorgeous drinking hole!

Today it has become Hounslow’s go-to location for drinks, food, parties, socialising and business meets! Locals love to catch up here, as you’ll always find a familiar face for company. Our regulars are lovely and you’ll always make new friends here at Bulstrode.

We have a variety of events every day of the week and of course, delicious food and drinks to set the mood. Situated right next to the Hounslow Central tube station on the Piccadilly line, this is a perfect spot when you want to drink and not drive (we highly recommend that you don’t drink and drive too!).

The pub is a minute’s walk to Hounslow high street and is in close proximity to the London Heathrow Airport. The central location, the majestic manor and the gorgeous gardens make it a convenient choice for international customers who want a quick and authentic English pub experience.
